There is something undeniably poetic about May in Tuscany. The rolling hills are a vibrant, living green, and the air carries the scent of blooming jasmine. It was the perfect backdrop for Sarah and Blaine’s wedding at the historic Castello di Bibbione, a venue that feels like it was pulled straight from a Renaissance painting.
As their wedding planner, seeing their vision—a seamless blend of "earthy elegance" and authentic Tuscan soul—come to life was a highlight of my season.
A Garden Ceremony to Remember
The day began in the castle’s intimate side garden. The setting was intentionally organic, leaning into a palette of terracotta, sage, and warm ochre.
The moment everyone held their breath? Sarah’s entrance. Descending the grand stone staircase, she looked absolutely ethereal. She was preceded by her bridesmaids, who wore a stunning "mismatched" palette of earthy tones—pinks, rusts, and olives—that complemented the greenery perfectly. It wasn't just a walk down the aisle; it was a scene of pure, timeless enchantment.
Sunset Sips on the Terrace
Following the "I dos," guests moved to the castle terrace for the aperitivo. With a glass of chilled Spritz in hand and the sun beginning its slow dip over the Chianti hills, the atmosphere was electric yet relaxed. There is truly no view quite like the one from Bibbione; it makes you feel as if you own a little piece of history.
Dinner Under a Canopy of Light
For the reception, we moved into the internal courtyard. To create a dynamic and social flow, we mixed:
Long wooden trestle tables for a family-style feel.
Classic round tables for a touch of traditional elegance.
Overhead, we strung delicate fairy lights that mimicked a starry sky. The combination of the ancient stone walls, the earthy floral centerpieces, and the soft glow of the bulbs created an atmosphere that was, quite simply, magic.
A Surprise at the DJ Booth!
Just when we thought the night couldn't get any better, it was time to party. We’ve seen many talented DJs, but this wedding had a special guest star: the bride herself!
Sarah jumped behind the decks for a surprise set, and the energy was through the roof. Seeing a bride in her stunning gown command the console while her guests cheered her on was the perfect, high-energy conclusion to a day rooted in tradition but sparked by personality.
Planner’s Note: Sarah and Blaine’s wedding is proof that when you embrace the natural colors of the landscape and add a personal twist, the result is always unforgettable.
